Each Friday, we feature a client who recently launched a new aspect of his or her web presence. Why? So that we can congratulate our valued clients on taking their websites to the next level and to show how we work with our clients to design and execute online marketing plans to fit their unique needs and reach their target audiences.
But, when is the right time to launch a website for your practice? For Tomball, Texas, dentist Dr. Ginger McElravy, the answer was in April of this year — 4 months before her practice, Spring Pearl Dental, opened its doors in early August.
MDPM worked with Dr. McElravy to create a web presence that took the look and feel of her new practice online. We worked with her through every step of the process — from obtaining a phone number and mailing address, to designing the site, to writing her optimized web copy, and everything in between — so that we were in line with her efforts to get started. We even started blogging before she saw her first patient in her new office. Now that her office is open, we continue to blog 12 times each month and make updates as needed to incorporate new promotions she runs and changes as her practice flourishes.
Dr. McElravy knew it was important to start building her web presence long before she opened the doors at her own practice. She already had a practice name and location, so she wanted to get all of that represented on the web as soon as possible. But, what if opening your practice is a few years off? What if you’re a dental student who hasn’t graduated yet?
It’s never too early to start building your brand and online reputation as a dental professional — which we talked about last week when we featured Dr. Quinta. Once you have a website, it can always be changed and updated to reflect your degree, practice affiliation, etc. In fact, websites should get a face lift every few years!
Another tip: As soon as you have your phone number, go ahead and claim your location on Google and on social media. This gets the process moving to get your location and contact information verified, which is crucial when it comes to patients being able to contact your office once you open for business. Typically, you can get a phone number as soon as your office structure is enclosed. Don’t wait!
From the entire MDPM Consulting team, congratulations to Dr. McElravy and the Spring Pearl Dental team! We can’t wait to see how your practice takes off, and we’re excited to be a part of it.
If you’re a new dentist, opening your own dental practice, or taking over an existing practice but haven’t taken the plunge yet, you might think it’s pointless to have a website, but you’re wrong. It’s never too early to start building your online presence and overall brand! Not sure where to start? We’d love to chat with you about it!
