Do you use a website service? Do you use a blog service? How about a newsletter company? Who does your press releases, graphic design for print ads, and direct mail?
While I was looking around on Facebook, I noticed that one of my clients recently opened a new office (congratulations!!!). Beautiful photos were published on their Facebook page. I wondered, did they know that MDPM offers press releases, and that we should write a blog with a photo rotation? We could even help with the event planning by putting a calendar alert on Facebook, or send out an email alert to all of their patients. Then again, was another vendor doing these things for them? Maybe. Maybe not.
The very same day, one of my blog writers was looking for fodder for a post, and she found a new note on the client’s website that they were hosting an open house in their new office on Thursday. We had no idea. Same deal – we should have offered press releases, blogs, calendar alerts, email alerts.
The fault is mostly on us. Sure, we spoke to our contacts at both of these practices this week. We keep in close contact with our clients. But, we apparently haven’t done a good job of letting our clients know that we do more than write blogs.
So, this post is primarily to tell you that MDPM is a marketing consulting firm. We have graphic artists, copywriters, website designers, programmers, and even printers on our team. We can be the marketing arm of your practice, and what we can’t do, we will refer to a trusted colleague.
The second purpose of this post is to ask, do you really know your patients?
1. Do your mom and dad patients know that you see children?
2. Do you see all of the family members of your patients? Why not?
3. Do your teen and adult patients know that you’re a cosmetic dentist?
4. Do your patients know that you do extractions and root canals, or will they assume that you don’t — and go to a specialist?
5. Are your patients aware of the conservative/minimally invasive dental techniques you use?
A blog, website, and newsletter are ideal forums for you to share all of your services. Contests and promotions are another great idea. And, of course, making sure that your website ranks well for targeted keywords – including the services people don’t necessarily know that you do.
