We’ve talked before about what a unique opportunity social media affords a dental practice. You can share blogs and all kinds of other important information. We often have clients ask about what they should share on social media. Does everything have to be dental related? What are the best topics to address on Facebook or Twitter? Should they have multiple platforms? In today’s blog, we’re going to answer a few of these common questions.
Dentistry-Related Items
First, maintaining an active social media presence can allow you to stay in contact with current patient and reach out to other people in your patients’ circle of friends and followers. Google also takes active social networks into account when ranking a site, assuming that can active presence means a business that communicates with satisfied clientele.
As for what to share, the obvious is dental-related items. For example, you can share blog posts, new pages from your website, or updates about the services you offer. These posts then direct people back to your website, where they can find out more about your practice.
Shake Things Up
Of course, that doesn’t mean you should limit yourself to only these topics. For example, many of our clients share comics and interesting articles about dentistry that may not seem super relevant. You can also have posts about holidays or upcoming community events. Remember, when people like and share these posts, they introduce you to a wider audience. Don’t feel afraid to shake things up, just take care when sharing things of political or controversial, as this could turn people away.
