On Friday, we looked at how Dr. James Stewart updated his main website to reflect changes at his practice. Often, a dental practice can grow and change, but maintain the same website. How often should you update the copy and esthetics of your website?
Have You Changed Your Services?
Over the years, many dentists and their team attend continuing education courses. After learning about new treatment options and approaches to addressing common problems, many practices then update their services. Your website should reflect these changes! If you add new treatments or technologies, then you need to alter your copy. The same goes with team member changes, changes to your office (from esthetics to new addresses or phone numbers), and even insurance and payment information. A website is not a monument carved in stone, it’s flexible and should be altered as your dental practice continues to grow and change.
Don’t Have an Outdated Design!
You should also take esthetics into account as well. What we want in a website design changes quickly, not long ago people wanted flash intros, music, and complex designs with multiple links and complicated navigation. Now? Having literally nay of these things will drive people away in droves. Users want simple navigation, a mobile-friendly design, and an uncluttered, clean look. Every three to five years, you should consider an update.
