In the world of online marketing, people definitely judge books by the covers. A well-made and visually interested website can suggest that the business is modern, up-to-date, and incorporating the latest treatments and technology. In addition, users crave visual elements in their content, from blogs to webpages. Does your content need more visuals?
Hubspot recently published a blog covering the importance of visual elements, including a number of surprising statistics, such as:
- 53% of marketers use pictures in the majority of their shared content
- 35% of marketers use stock images in their pages and posts
- From 2015 to 2016, marketers’ use of visual content increased 130%
The takeaway? More businesses and marketing companies are using pictures, gifs, and even videos in their pages and posts. Even your individual blog posts should incorporate pictures. Not only do they make the posts look more professional, but they can also be used to break up large blocks of text.
Your website should also incorporate pictures and videos. You can use stock images or hire a photographer to gather images of your staff, doctors, and office. You can also add before and after pictures to showcase the benefits of treatment. Now, if you assume you can just grab your iPhone and take these images yourself, we urge you to pause. Your photos should look professional and well-lit. Otherwise, you could do more harm than good.
The Hubspot post we discussed above made prominent use of infographics. Basically, you take the copy you would include in a page or post, but create a visually arresting graphic including statistics, copy, and images. We’ve had many clients request these for their sites, including the Lathrop Dental Center. You can visit their website by clicking the link and seeing the graphics our talented designers created.
