3 Link Building Techniques

Link building is an important part of local search engine optimization (SEO), but one that few people are well versed in. As a result, a well-meaning dentist could end up stuffing their website with inefficient links, hurting their SEO more than helping. Fortunately, we can help! We’re going to look at three appropriate tactics for building links within your website and blog.

Direct Your Patients to Relevant Pages

Links are just one part of your overall local strategy, which includes NAP (name, address, and phone number) information, Google My Business, long-tail keywords, and quality content. Your links should be limited to between five and seven per page. They should direct users to related pages and should always, always be relevant. For example, if you have a page about cosmetic dentistry, your links should lead to related pages, such as teeth whitening or veneers.

Employ Keywords

When you place the links, try to focus on ones related to important keywords when possible. Linking services, or related descriptions (such as “Teeth Stains” or “Missing Teeth” or “Dallas Dentist”) can be ideal. Not only do they connect users to relevant content, they highlight important keywords.

Try Guest Blogging

You should have some links on each page that direct people to other pages, and your blogs should contain links to main pages, as well as to other blog posts. But where else can you strategically place links? Well, you can always try guest blogging, and/or writing articles for other dental websites. This not only can improve your reputation as an expert, but you can link the blogs and/or articles back to your website.
